Veteran Crooner Mr Peter Ciani is a true pioneer of the Australian music industry, making history when EMI released his first Australian album for world release in 1963.

The Italian (Sicilian) born musician rose to national and international fame after winning the national TV talent show Show Case in 1967. Peter has enjoyed a career that has spanned over half a century, bringing him great success in Australia and Europe. His album In Love Again achieved critical acclaim and solid radio play.

During his career, he composed music for the TV Show Variety Italian Style which is a fave of mine and he also wrote and recorded a song with Johnny O’Keefe in 1965. Peter also enjoyed a great deal of exposure on European TV in the late 1980s and 90s. In 2000 his song La Bella Italia won the famous Reggio Emilia song festival.

Peter has just released his new album Il Cuore, La Voce, La Musica (The Heart, the Voice, the Music) on YouTube. While he does not promote his music heavily these days, he said he was excited to hear what fans think. Peter said he was extremely proud of his new album.

It features nine new original compositions -including an ode to his local bowling club at Clovelly. It also features some re-imaginings of older compositions, a cover of Frank Sinatra’s hit My Way – an old favourite from his days of live performance and several Julio Iglesias songs.
