RITAS BIOG WAS COPIED FROM HER WEBSITE WITHOUT AMENDMENTS.

THIS WAS AT HER REQUEST

I was born in Terracina in the province of Latina on March 14th “Under the sign of Pisces”, paraphrasing a well-known song by Antonello Venditti.

I’m just six months old when I remain enchanted, almost ecstatic (so my mother tells me) listening to that splendid melody which in the 1960s provided the background to the RAI television intervals in black and white.

At the age of six I asked my parents, with conviction and enthusiasm, to study piano and music thus became my best friend for life.

At seventeen, after several auditions, I recorded my first album (45 rpm – RCA discography) entitled SUSPETTO, but luck didn’t notice me and, in this way, I had plenty of time to study and graduate in Political Science at La Sapienza University of Rome.

Two years after graduating (in the meantime I work as a secretary in a notary’s office) my adventure as a musician and singer began in some well-known clubs in the capital (Jacky’O and Tartarughino), but only in 1991 did the great opportunity of the Sanremo with the song “E’ SOLANTO UNA CANZONE” (Eliop-Cheli) from which my first CD was born.

I tried again in 1992 with a song written by a young Sicilian Antonio Comis and the brothers Antonio and Gianni Bella “NON IT’S NOBODY’S FAULT”, however, due to a legal dispute with the previous record company, this song was never recorded, even though they reach the final. The sorrow is immense, but it is truly true that all evils do not have a silver lining! The great Luciano Rispoli noticed me at the ’92 Festival and offered me the possibility of having a musical space within the television program “LA PIU’ BELLA SEI TU” hosted by him on TMC.

Thus, a strong partnership based on professionalism and esteem was born and I was lucky enough to continue working with my dear “uncle Luciano” for five years on the well-known and successful show “TAPPETO VOLANTE”.

Thanks uncle Luciano! In the summer of 1995 I still host the program “THE THOUSAND AND ONE NOTES OF THE FLYING CARPET” on TMC.

I participate in various television programs such as the “VIVA NAPOLI” Festival on Rete 4 hosted by Mike Buongiorno, a wonderful person and a great professional who gives me, in this way, the opportunity to interpret those Neapolitan songs that I love. I recorded two more CDs entitled “LE DONNE SONO UN’ALTRA COSA” in 1995 and “CERTI UOMINI” in 1996 signed by Luciano Rossi.
In the spring of 1998-99 I hosted a cinema and music television program “FORTE FORTISSIMA” on TMC with the participation of one of the most authoritative film critics Claudio G.Fava.

Another great and important opportunity is offered to me by Maurizio Costanzo. I participate several times in his famous talk show and thanks to him I have the fortune and joy of living a wonderful and unforgettable experience in his highly successful broadcast “BUONA SOMENICA” on Canale 5.
What more can I say? Sometimes dreams come true!
